The Lost Art of Good Object Design
Devlin Liles (Improving Houston)
Do you believe that writing great code quickly is important? Do you feel compelled to seek the elegant solution? Does it bother you if you are writing the same code for a year? If so, then this session is for you. We will take a look at the evolution of the software industry and how we have lost some of the skills needed to achieve amazing results. This talk is independent of language, and we will be using multiple languages in the examples. We will then dive into a complex series of solutions as a group, and start bringing back object oriented analysis and design.
Devlin Liles is the president of Improving Houston and a passionate technologist. He prides himself on staying a generalist, but his passion is leveraging technology to solve the problems facing business. Devlin has an entrepreneurial mindset and has been a key contributor to growth and success of the Houston office being one of the founding employees in 2011.
