Someone Else’s Server: An Introduction to the Azure Serverless Offerings

James Alt (State of Louisiana)

Serverless, the buzzword du jour, but what does it mean and why does it matter? In this talk we’ll go through the basics of serverless on Azure, covering the various offerings and taking a look at some real-world examples of how you can begin to leverage these tools and save money while doing it.

James Alt is an Enterprise Architect for the State of Louisiana, working on modernizing software development practices across the organization. On the side he owns a small consulting company, Alterity LLC, specializing in mobile app development for local/regional businesses. Outside of work he’s a father and a husband and enjoys running for some unknown reason. He dabbles in beer making and guitar playing and even serves as a VP in the Baton Rouge .NET User Group and an active member of the Baton Rouge SQL Saturday Planning Committee.
