Mobile App Development using Xamarin.Forms

Jeremy Cronan

A current trend nowadays is moving away from the web to mobile applications. Xamarin allows for development of native iOS, Android, and Windows Apps using existing skills and C#. Learn how to interact with each hardware while still keeping code centralized using an open source library and .NET Standard.

An Application Developer at Alliance Safety Council for the last 7 years. He has been programming for over 15 years. Outside of work he enjoys being a husband and father to 3, as well as VP of Media for the Baton Rouge .NET User Group.

Lightning Round Presentation:

Data Types Matter!

John Wells

In this lightning round, we will go over why it is important to choose your data types wisely. I will show a few different examples of data types, the difference in I/O and why Developers need to stop with the NVARCHAR(MAX) already.

Originally from Southern California, John enjoys the slower pace here in Louisiana. He is continuing his journey with PowerShell and Performance Tuning. If he is not at a SQLSaturday event or a LSU game, he is grilling something or killing some crawfish! Actually he smokes more than grills, but when he says this, people look at him funny.
