Main Presentation:

React Native – So real you can taste it

Justin Obney

With React Native, you don’t build a “mobile web app”, an “HTML5 app”, or a “hybrid app”. You build a real mobile app that’s indistinguishable from an app built using Objective-C or Java. React Native uses the same fundamental UI building blocks as regular iOS and Android apps. You just put those building blocks together using JavaScript and React.

Justin is a Husband, Lead Developer, Apple Fanboy, and JavaScript fanatic. His current focus has been building rich application interfaces for the web, but he is increasingly looking more to mobile.

Lightning Round Presentation:

TRY…CATCH Error Handling in SQL Server

Colby Loupe (Sparkhound)

TRY…CATCH was introduced in SQL 2005 as the standard for error handling in SQL Server. This presentation will review the benefits of using proactive error handling to address both anticipated and unanticipated errors during code execution, along with the ways to utilize TRY…CATCH in standard queries and stored procedures.

Colby is a Junior Consultant for Sparkhound’s SQL Server division with experience with administration, data integration, and report development. After working as a report writer for her local government, Colby moved to Baton Rouge to pursue a career in Database Administration at Sparkhound.
