Getting Started with .NET Core

Brandon Cornett (Turner Industries)

Heard of .NET Core, but not taken the time to look in to it? Started looking at it, but been discouraged by the seemingly endless stream of breaking changes to the architecture? Played around with it, but want to know what the framework code you’re typing is actually doing? This talk aims to answer some of your questions about .NET Core, how it’s structured, new features, the CLI, differences between it and the .NET Framework, useful tools, and will also include an introduction to ASP.NET Core.

Brandon is a lead software developer at Turner Industries. He brings years of consulting experience to the enterprise, working on internal projects to help support employees of the business. His stack of choice is .NET, and more recently he’s taken an interest in React for web and mobile applications. Brandon assists with classes at Southeastern Louisiana University, has attended Xamarin conferences, is an active speaker at local .NET user groups, and has spoken at many SQL Saturday conferences.
