March 2013 Baton Rouge XAML User Group Meeting – Code Garage

Our next meeting is Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at the Louisiana Technology Park, sponsored by Sparkhound, Inc.

The BRXAMLUG is open to the public and focuses on XAML based development of Windows Phone and Windows 8 apps.

CODE GARAGE

A code garage is designed so that developers can have a block of time devoted to working on your idea in an encouraging environment with your peers.  Many different individuals of all experience levels will be on hand in case you get stuck, have a question or need help fleshing out that million dollar idea!

This month, we have special guests Jared Bienz, (Sr Mobile Evangelist, Microsoft) Ryan Joy (Developer Evangelist, Microsoft) and Mike Huguet (Premier Field Engineer, Microsoft) on hand to offer enlightenment and assistance.  There will even be a Surface tablet on hand should you want to side load and test your app for full-fingered functionality!

What will you need to bring?  A laptop installed with Windows 8 and VS 2012 (or a VM running both) for Win8 development, and Windows Phone developers will need the Windows Phone SDK.  Be sure to check the requirements on http://dev.windowsphone.com/en-us/downloadsdk.
